General Nursing and Midwifery or GNM field is another basic nursing course or specialisation which produces professionals capable of carrying out day to day operations of a nurse in different settings. Like ANM, GNM opens up opportunities to all nursing aspirants to courses and training programmes to enhance their knowledge and skill in the discipline.

(A) grade nurse
|10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually for any recognized board.
10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing council.
